What’s not surprising at all? The fact that Abbe, Jess, and Emma could not wait to talk about a great book for 30 minutes, as they do every month for the Read it Forward book club.
In August, they read The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett—a stunning work of fiction about two inseparable twins who, after they run away together, go very separate ways. It’s a multi-generational novel that spans the ’50s to the ’90s and really touches on race issues in America at that time, as well as family and sisterhood. As Emma says in the video, think Nella Larson’s Passing and J. Courtney Sullivan’s Saints for All Occasions wrapped into one.
